# Working with Objectives
Objectives are specific circumstances to be achieved within a stated time frame that meet a particular goal. They are often used to help outline the pillars of a logical framework (opens new window).
Why is it important? Objectives are necessary to better define the end goal of the program. This helps in measuring and ensuring that the meaningful impact the program intended to accomplish is achieved.
# Add objectives
Go to Indicators > Objectives
and click on the + Objectives
. Add your objective's name, description and its relation with other objectives.
After your objectives are added, indicators can be associated to any of your objectives.
Identify your objectives to outline your program's logic
As part of the program setup it is helpful to add objectives early on. Objectives can typically be found in your program proposal or your Logframe.
